Last meeting report: Workshop: 'Botanical Printing' with Bev James

Another super workshop with Bev James today. 18 members attended and everyone enjoyed the process of using botanical objects, leaves and flowers along with Ferrous Oxide to extract the tannins from them through a steaming process of 45 minutes. Results were mixed, but the consensus was that, the tighter the roll and string were, the more distinct the outcome. Also, it was appreciated how varied the colours were from plant to plant. Can’t wait to practice more!

Summer Exhibition at the Tabernacle, Newport

Our annual summer exhibition is always popular and successful, so if you have not exhibited before why not give it a go? Entry forms have been sent out and the deadline for entries is Monday 13 July. 3 half days of stewarding are required over the two weeks. See the Exhibitions page for more details.

 

Monday 7 September

Workshop: 'Still Life Drawing & Painting' with Club Members 10.30am-1.00pm

A variety of still life subjects will be available for drawing or painting in a medium of your choice. Some club members will take us through their approach to studying and working on still life paintings.

Sascha owns Wits End Farm and the Wool Shop in Newcastle Emlyn. She will be running a practical workshop on Felting with all materials provided.
